like the waves I tried

but somewhere along the way

lost my heart to stone

cast away to sea only

pushed up on a distant beach

you leave me again

in a kaleidoscope world

ten thousand visions

each a mirror reflecting

fragments of a broken dream

.

from source to soul

detoxify the mirage –

a matrix of lies

.

each train ride –

a tourniquet of boredom

constricting my heart

.

character review:

a blank personality –

my poker face

.

descrying this world

conscientiously objecting

to normalcy

.

methods twist –

where darkness falls – reason lies

invoking nature

.

earth, water, air … fire!

fingers twist conjuring shapes

transforming futures

.

bitter thoughts attack

 inaction’s utter violence –

the calm in my eyes

.

the mundane facade

before it is unleashed

prepare for the storm

feel the pressure wave:

footsteps in the sand

.

each grain of rice climbs

the arcuate dune lifting

ripple by ripple

.

yearning for water

winds dry the salt on my skin

a deceitful kiss

.

the sky shimmers

seven colours play

with promise

.

sand grains jump

excitedly

emulating rain

.

just a shower

of heavenly light – all else

evaporates

Haiku-heights theme: tree

have you no shame –

flamboyant decoration

simply brazen

.

the keys coloured sun

conspicuous in your guilt

even grass blushes

.

in supplication

blood soaked palms raised skywards

penitent

.

fly, wing-ed forms, fly

the gentle rustle – oh listen!

the snake barks
