like the waves I tried

but somewhere along the way

lost my heart to stone

cast away to sea only

pushed up on a distant beach

the notes of a flute

just the wind




quick-silver runs

on the wave crest – the moon

crashes onto the beach


where once

my hairline now tumble

white whiskers


stealing silver

creeping out – behind a cloud

moon shadows fall




from the distant sun

a rash of bursting spots

each wave breaking ashore

brings one thousand storms

upon ten thousand seas


see crazy chaos

in a seismograph’s scratches

randomly flicking

backwards and forwards –

such poor decision making


footprints of the wind

each grain removed

left empty – oh

a precarious balance

in the swing of a pendulum
